We needed a fixed IP to push the content from the server, so we created an APN (the 3G provider delivers the encrypted data to a carrier who routes all information to our ISP, there we finish the tunnel). Our players are not open to the internet (it is a critical retail solution, so we wanted to avoid any attack). Furthermore, this solution is safer but cheaper as well, we don’t have to pay for mobile fixed IP-s, here in Spain they are still very expensive.
