Hi all, I’m new to the board, although not new to digital signage. apologies if I’m starting a new thread that already exists…but what I’m hoping to discuss and get your feedback on is the best digital signage players you have found for under $500 which are network capable.
for my small business, I’m looking at starting with 5 to 10 screens around my local region and thus, 5 to 10 network capable media players. I have found many, many companies online in USA, companies such as SmartAVI, as one example.
I’m hoping to pick your brains e.g. I’ve been there and yes, I also looked at 10 or 20 different companies before I finally landed on Product X , and I love it for all these reasons….

Are you looking at installing this in a corporate environment and leaving it on for 8 hours a day? If so it’s best to install a commercial screen.
But I guess it comes down to money.
Using DLNA will work, but it will depend on the location of the screen, wireless access point, and your PC/Device (are you planning on using a mobile phone?)…

Hi Rafal, welcome to the portal.
With regards to your question, does the monitors have any build in players?
Can it play images?
Generally, most build in players should be able to play images (jpg) in a loop. So I don’t think you need to use another freeware software.
Also, you should be able to buy a SD card readers and just copy the files to the SD card. Hopefully, this is what you’re trying to achieve.

Hi, I have a situation where I want to play-out live sporting events from a free to air broadcaster. I believe that free to air is exactly what it states and is available to be screened in a public area unlike cable or pay for view type broadcast that you must subscribe too. there may be licence issues with Foxtel. I am in Fiji and the broadcasters might change the rules on me because they will think I am competition for the advertising dollar. anyone know the rules on free to air broadcast? if legally a broadcaster can stop a digital sign from playing content. This has not happened yet I just want to be prepared….
