Quite a number of Shopping Centres are now installing LED screens suspended from the ceiling and I’m quite intrigued as to what was involved with installing such a complex and large screen.
Here’s the image in the Darling Harbour Shopping Centre in Sydney Australia:

When I was shopping for a TV about a year and a half ago I noticed a LED TV too. So I started asking questions about it. They ranged from a 46-60 inch. They are supposedly 6x brighter than a LCD TV and use 1/3 less power and last almost 2x as long as a LCD TV. Again this is what the sales person told me so Im not sure its the most accurate….

LED displays work similarly to LCDs, except instead of having fluorescent bulbs there are many Light Emitting Diodes behind the screen. These LEDs require very little electricity, and ones that are not needed can be turned off.
Another huge advantage of LED TVs over both plasma TVs and LCD TVs is the amount of power it consumes. It uses up to 70% less power than the other systems which over the course of a year or a TVs lifetime can lead to huge savings. It’s also important when you consider that as a whole we use up far too much energy and shortages could be possible in the future unless we do something about it.
The LEDs take up less space than the small fluorescent bulbs so the screens are noticeably thinner, and lighter. The modern technology and style of the LED TV certainly make…

I loved the world cup and the best part was the LED screens that they kept in fan parks. The atmosphere was really amazing and I hope they do this again for other sporting events.

LED screens are amazing. I love how they work and how they help improve everything in the entertainment and advertising industry. Sports on LED screens and big screens are great to and digital signage in railway stations is just as good. So much you can do with digital.

Everyone seems to be getting in on the act of having digital signage, LED screens and interactive big screens. I think it’s a great way to advertise things and to get people interested.

Last week I was on a family trip at the gold coast and noticed how digital signage was everywhere. Most of the retail stores at Surfers Paradise had an LCD screen – I spotted quite a few of the Panasonic 42 inch Plasma screens.
It was by sheer luck that I stumbled (I literally didn’t really notice the screen) across two LED Screens – one was located on the main streets of surfers paradise whilst the other was at a plaza (it didn’t have many people walking past there). In any case out of habit I decided to take a Klip of these screens. Sorry if I don’t have the exact location or know what the location is for these screens. I’ll promise that the next time I take a photo I’ll include the GPS co-ordinates.
Here’s also a quick video of what I saw (sorry for the bad filming):

The socceroos didn’t it make it to the next round but have a look at these LED screens in Darling Harbour which is being used as part of the FIFA FAN FEST in Sydney Darling Harbour. During the day it’s just a notice board (seem like it only being used to display the timetable for the day) but at night it becomes a massive TV. It would have been good if it was also showing the latest results and some highlights – basically use it as a digital signage system. In any case who wouldn’t want to watch a soccer game on these screens?
Who would have thought that both Italy and France wouldn’t make it to the next round.!.!?!

No, we are not talking about the green digital signage – we are talking today about the American band Green Day and their nice, transformable and digitalized stage.
The event took place on last Sunday, November 8th, at Zurich’s Hallenstadion (see the digital signage installation in Hallenstadion in one of our previous posts).
The concert is unfortunately not going to be remembered by good music heard on it, but the stage looked pretty interesting. The LED screens, which were changing the colours and some simple effects – one could have said that there are at least dozen scenographies involved.

I was walking around JB HIFI on the weekend and noticed a very large screen 60 (I cannot recall what brand it was). The colour and sharpness of the screen was amazing. When I looked at the price tag around the ,000 mark I noticed that it had LED TV screen. Now, I’ve never came across an LED TV screen before but I was very surprised. Basically, the first thing that comes to mind when the term LED is used, a large billboard pops in my head.
Does anyone know much about LED screens. What the advantages are over LCD screens. I’ve been told one of them is power….
