Google has recently invited selected google account members to the “google wave”, and just recenlty I was wondering how Advertise Me could integrate this new communication tool with digital signage. Fortunately, the digital signage players we use will allow us to quite easily integrate google wave as the system is web capable.Β
If I understand how google wave works, it would mean that updating content will be easier than before and it may alsoΒ mean that a CMS (Content Management Server) may no longer be needed. I’ll stop here and keep pondering and brainstorming.
Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Great questions asked by Advertise Me and some great comments made by Concerto. I definitely share the same mindset with regards to the last question (next big thing) – focus needs to be in interactivity.
Open source models are great for a number of reasons –
1. there is a wider community involved in improving and sharing the source code
2. there is no costs passed onto the client
However I do question how digital signage companies are to profit out of these solutions. How would one charge for this kind of setup? I’ve never worked with open source technologies before and keen to find out how.
